Corey & Monique are engaged!
Yeah! We’re all excited for them. Corey and Monique got engaged last night. No details yet – I’m sure they’ll give me the whole story to post here at some point.

Second night of Chanukah was more relaxed. We made the mistake last night of mentioning that Chanukah meant we’d have a "party" for the next seven nights. Mikaela was calling for a party from the minute she walked back in the house. Our neighbor from up the street, Maggie and her sons Andrew and Baby [...]

Mikaela was very excited for the first night of Chanukah. We explained to her that we would be going to a party tonight (Tuesday night) at Grandma Ted and Zaydie Larry’s house and that there would be candles to light and presents to open. We forgot to take into account a two-year-old’s limited concept of [...]

As I posted earlier, once we escaped the snow in KC, it was smooth sailing to Rochester. Overall, the long weekend was mostly a relaxing vacation. It was the first time Miriam’s family had all been together for Thanksgiving since Miriam was in high school.
WednesdayI posted about Wednesday night in the arrival post below. But [...]

Meanwhile, back in KC, the snow is causing some extra excitement. The heavy snow brought down a powerline in Grandma Ted and Zaydie Larry’s backyard – and it managed to pull the electric meter right off the back of their house. Power was supposed to be restored by the end of the day, but at [...]

In addition to the pictures from Chicago that we posted, I’ve added a November photo album. So far, it’s [...]

This was the view out the back window this morning. About 3 inches of snow, and it was still coming down in big, heavy, wet flakes. Marcia and Larry had a power line down in their backyard – no power and Thanksgiving food in the oven. Ted couldn’t go outside in back, Marcia had to [...]

We checked out of our hotel on Sunday morning, and headed over to Corey and Monique’s for breakfast. We were rewarded for transporting the waffle mix that Mom had bought for them with homemade waffles. The waffles were great, and Mikaela got to spend the morning playing with Corey and Mo. In the picture here, [...]

We had coffee and the cinnamon rolls from Fox and Abel for breakfast. AMC met us at the hotel at about 10 am and we walked to Michigan Ave for a Disney show on an outdoor stage in front of the Tribune Building. After the show – featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse – we went [...]
