We’ve been trying to be pretty low-key with the whole potty training thing. For the last month or so, Mikaela has occassionally asked to sit on the toilet, but she would pretty much just climb up there, sit for a couple of seconds, and hop down to put down the seat and flush. I think flushing was the real goal.
But last night as we were gettting ready to take her bath, Mikaela asked again to sit on the toilet. I helped her up and asked her if she was going to actually put any potty in the toilet this time. She said, yes — and then she did! Whoopee! She peed in the toilet again right after her bath, and when we changed her diaper this morning, it was dry. It’s only a start. One small step. But it appears that the potty training will now begin in earnest.
