Meanwhile, back in KC, the snow is causing some extra excitement. The heavy snow brought down a powerline in Grandma Ted and Zaydie Larry’s backyard – and it managed to pull the electric meter right off the back of their house. Power was supposed to be restored by the end of the day, but at 6:00 p.m., KCPL said they still had 16,000 customers without electricity. The electrician has already replaced the meter, but power wasn’t back yet by about 9:45 p.m.

Much of the day today was spent transporting and re-preparing food for the big feast. Here’s wishing all of our KC family the best on Thanksgiving, and especially Grandma Ted and Zaydie Larry on getting their power restored. Who’d a thunk – we come to Minnesota at the end of November, and it’s the weather in KC that’s causing problems.
