Sunday, September 13 was a busy day. After hanging out with family for lunch, Miriam and I headed out to Knuckleheads because my old friend Guy Forsyth was in town with his band. We had a nice dinner at Classic Cup on the Plaza, and then headed down to the railroad tracks for the show (literally – I HATE trying to find Knuckleheads, thank God for GPS). For some unknown reason, the sound guy failed to show up, which delayed the start of the show. That did provide a little time to catch up with Guy for a bit. We sat right up front, and when the sound issues were finally taken care of, the show itself was wonderful as usual. The band played a few new songs that I hadn’t heard before. They’re recording a live show at Gruene Hall in Austin, with plans to release it on DVD for the holiday shopping season (watch http://www.guyforsyth.com for details), and hope to use the money from the DVD sales to help pay for studio time to record a new album. If the rest of the new album sounds anything like what they were playing live, I can’t wait!
