We had an activity-packed day this past Saturday. We started with a trip to the City Market, where Mikaela scored that cool frog balloon animal (Jonathan got a dragon). From the City Market, we headed to Crown Center. The plan was to grab some lunch and then let the kids run in the Crown Center fountain. But we stumbled on a free puppet show performance, which both kids really enjoyed. After lunch and the puppet show, we headed across the street for the fountain.
The kids had a blast in the fountain (well, Mikaela’s fun was cut a bit short when she turned her ankle. But she had a great time until then). And Jonathan had even more fun when he discovered the little sand pit next to the fountain. By the time we finally got home, we were all exhausted (Jonathan fell asleep in the car, and didn’t even fully wake up when I changed him out of his swimsuit and put him down on the bed to finish his nap). It was a fun family day, made all the more pleasant by how surprisingly cooperative both kids were all day. Cross your fingers – hopefully that bodes well for our upcoming vacation trip to Minnesota.
