On January 7th, Jonathan made his first-ever injury trip to the emergency room. Given his propensity for dipping his head and running into things, I’m surprised it took this long. Though when it happened, it wasn’t his usual barreling into a wall or a door that caused the problem. He was at the CDC, and went running into the nap room to retreive Dinosaur (whose name, Jonathan has now confirmed, is “Dinosaur.”). He tripped over one cot, hit his head on the leg of another cot, and opened a cut that required six stitches to close.
Jonathan was a trooper through it all. When Miriam went to pick him up at the CDC, the bleeding had already stopped and he was just sitting in a chair in the office snacking on some pretzels. His only real complaint was with the use of the papoose board while they cleaned the wound and then again when they put in the stitches. But he was back to his old self, munching on french fries, an hour after he got the stitches.
