Miriam, Mikaela and I had loads of fun at the Kansas City Zoo on Saturday. We started at the Red Barn, where Mikaela got to see sheep and donkeys and fed a goat. Then she got to ride on a pony (that was VERY exciting). Then we saw potbellied pigs and checked out the brand-new lorikeet exhibit. Next was a chance to brush a goat. This was followed by a thorough hand-washing before we took an ice cream break. Mikaela rode on a camel too, and watched the sea lions play, and saw peacocks wandering around. We took a ride on the train to check out some of the primates, including orangutans, squirrel monkeys, and lemurs. And the toucans with their bright yellow beaks. By then it had already been a long day, so we decided to save Africa for our next visit. We had so much fun, I’m sure we’ll be back. There are pictures from our adventures at the zoo in the May 2004 Photo Album in the right-hand column.
