Jonathan went to his first baseball game last night, courtesy of cousins Carol & Craig Wilson (and the occasion of the birth of new cousin Gillian Wilson). And special thanks to Marcia and Larry for all of the help with the physical transfer of the tickets. We made it a family night at the baseball game - Mikaela loves Friday Night games, because she’s a big fireworks fan. The seats were great, as usual, and the Royals treated us to a competitive game (though they couldn’t quite pull it out, and the losing streak continued). Miriam did yeoman’s work chasing Jonathan around the concourses, and I took turns too. Mikaela did a nice job staying patient as the game wore on, delaying the real attraction for her (though she did enjoy the hot dog race). Amazingly, both kids were wide awake all the way through the fireworks and even in the car most of the way home. Mikaela woke up long enough to put on jammies and brush her teeth - which we insisted on due to the sheer volume of cotton candy she consumed at the game. But Jonathan was OUT when we got home. We just put him in his crib with his lovey and a binky fully clothed (well, I did remove his sandals). Here are a few pictures I took:
