Happy Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day dinner was a strawberry affair, featuring pink heart-shaped pancakes, fresh strawberries and strawberry syrup, and strawberry smoothies to drink. The kids got various little Valentine’s cards and treats from both sets of grandparents, Miriam and I, and aunts and uncles.
Miriam and I had said we weren’t going to do Valentine’s gifts this year, but we both ended up getting gifts for each other anyway. I went down to the Media Room Thursday night to discover a bottle of my favorite scotch sitting in my chair. On Friday afternoon, Miriam opened the freezer to discover an entire shelf of Graeter’s Ice Cream - the kind we used to go out for as a treat when we were living in Cincinnati (and, IMHO, the best ice cream on the planet).
