Friday afternoon, Jonathan approached the computer while Miriam was finishing up a quick Email check. Miriam closed the laptop lid, and Jonathan started to screech. He reached out to the computer and then made the baby-sign for “more” (referenced in the post below this one). So I launched a free application I found when I first go the MacBook called AlphaBaby. You can see a bit of what it does in the picture - based on the keys that Jonathan pressed, big, colorful, letters, numbers and shapes appeared on screen (along with some truly annoying sounds). It also locks out everything else that the computer can do until you press a four-key combination all at the same time, saving me from having the 14-month-old reformatting my hard drive by accident or something like that. We almost had to drag him away from it.
The next leg of Jonathan’s “Tour de Show-off” was to head for the stairs. He crawled right up and dashed for the bathroom. Once in the bathroom, he reached up onto the counter and started saying, “teeth” over and over again (well, it’s really “teef”, but we can tell what he’s saying). Yep. Just about his favorite thing in the world these days is running that baby toothbrush around in his mouth. This time, while he was brushing, I noticed what appears to be tooth number 9 poking through his gums just to the left of his last existing upper tooth (I guess that makes it an incisor). I had to pry the toothbrush from his hand when it was time to go back downstairs for dinner.
