Thursday night, Miriam and I celebrated our Ninth Wedding Anniversary. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago we were living in Cincinnati and Miriam’s grandmother was giggling because she’d figured out that I was the new roommate that Miriam was searching for apartments with. We celebrated with dinner at Cassis. The food was fantastic, but the company was even better. It was our anniversary, so we splurged. We started with champagne - the same brand that we used for the toasts at our wedding. Then, I had a bowl of lobster bisque with truffle foam. And we shared an absolutely incredible appetizer called Tomate Farcie au Boursin - perfect cherry tomatoes, stuffed with boursin cheese, basil pesto, and surprisingly good vanilla bean infused olive oil. I had bleu cheese encrusted salmon for a main course, while Miriam had the filet with morel mushrooms and shallots. We finished off the night with excellent french press coffee, creme brulee six ways (six tiny, tasty, creme brulees in different flavors - chocolate, espresso, vanilla, banana, berry, and one other that I can’t seem to remember) and Tout au Chocolate (an assortment of chocolate treats).
Thanks for nine wonderful years Miriam. I couldn’t have possibly imagined them any better.
