We’ve reached a couple of milestone developments with Jon this week. The big one is that on Friday evening, he finally got that arm out from under himself and figured out how to turn over from his back to his front. Since then, he’s managed to accomplish front to back as well. So while he can’t crawl or walk yet, he is now mobile. He just rolls from one place to the next (though there doesn’t seem to be much of an effort to reach any particular destination).
The second development is that Jon has added a couple of new “communication modes”, for lack of a better term. In addition to the usual baby cooing and crying, he’s added at least a couple of different raspberries to his vocabulary. They’re quite distinct from one another. One is a traditional, tongue stuck out between the lips, raspberry. The other is more closely related to a “coo” - it’s sort of a motorboat/pursed lips raspberry. He will carry on quite involved conversations with you if you raspberry, coo, and motoboat back to him.
