Mikaela’s New Favorite Movie

Mikaela has a new favorite movie - The Rescuers. When she can get away with it, she’ll even watch it more than once a day. We were concerned that it would be too scary for her, but she absolutely loves it. It helps that the “bad guys” always lose. It also led to an interesting conversion between Mikaela and me about adoption (because Penny, the main human character in the movie, is an orphan who wants to be adopted). Mikaela announced to me that she wanted to be adopted, and I had to try to explain to her what being adopted meant. That was a tough one.
