Mikaela is VERY protective of her new baby brother. Yesterday, Miriam was changing Jonathan’s diaper. As is not uncommon, Jonathan was wailing at the discomfort of being exposed. Miriam had put a onesie on Jonathan, and was starting to put an outfit on over the onesie. Jonathan was still wailing. Mikaela jumped up from her seat on the couch, stomped over to the bassinet, grabbed the outfit from Miriam’s hand and (in the most serious voice she could muster) said, “NO Mommy! He said, ‘that’s enough!’”
We explained to her that babies cry like that when they’re exposed, and that Jonathan really was OK. While still dubious, she didn’t complain when Miriam took the outfit back and put it on Jonathan.
