Yesterday evening we were about to head upstairs to get Mikaela into a bath when the doorbell rang. Our neighbor had come by to tell us that one of our sprinkler heads (over on the side of the house closest to hers) was malfunctioning. We walked outside for her to show it to us and Mikaela went outside too and joined the neighborhood kids playing at the bottom of the cul-de-sac. So far so good. We get to talking and mention that the deck is done (all but the lighting and putting stuff away). She asks to see it and we head around to the back. We get to chatting and go on longer than we had intended. Time to head back out front and check on Mikaela. We come around the corner and find this:

She had gone inside, gotten her raincoat down from the hall closet, and decided to run around in the sprinkler system. She did take her shoes off - so she was running around in her socks. And she was SO proud that she’d put on her rain coat to keep from getting wet (except, of course, that she hadn’t buttoned it either, so she was still drenched). It was WAY too cute to get angry about. The Bug, dressed like a bug:
