Lunch on Saturday was at a place that SHOULD have been “can’t miss” as a special treat for Mikaela. The restaurant is called Alice’s Tea Cup - Chapter II. It was a chance for Mikaela to have a REAL tea party, complete with Alice-In-Wonderland theme. My friends Mike, Michele & Shawn joined Miriam, Mikaela, Aunt Bunny and me for lunch. I should have forseen that a group of seven on Saturday might be tricky. The wait for a table was a bit longer that we’d hoped, but actually shorter than we were first informed.
The real issues were after we were seated. The staff couldn’t figure out how to turn on the fans upstairs, and the heat index was already over 100 degrees for the day. It was cramped quarters, so it was quite hot. It took a while for them to take our orders, but then FOREVER to get our food out to us. We joked that they must have been busy aging the cheddar cheese for Mikaela’s grilled cheese sandwich. The saving grace was that both the food and the tea really was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and by the time we left we weren’t quite so cranky about the waiting and the heat.
