Mikaela has had a pretty nasty cold for the past few days, and we figured we should head it off before another week of swimming. So we took advantage of our wonderful pediatrician’s Sunday urgent care hours. The doctor said that it looked like we’d caught it right before the ear infection kicked in, and prescribed an antibiotic. By the time we were done at the doctor’s office, Mikaela was already getting her appetite back, so we took advantage of already being on the Plaza and treated ourselves to one of our favorite brunches at Tomfooleries.
Yesterday, Mikaela did some fingerpainting. She especially like to mix the colors to see what new color results. So today at Tomfooleries, while eating her Froot Loops, she decided to continue the color mixing experiments. While we were talking about something else, she noticed that the decorative toaster on our table was very shiny and made a good mirror. So Mikaela took one red Froot Loop and one blue Froot Loop and put them in her mouth. She chewed them up, then stuck out her tongue so that she could check the resulting color in her reflection. Cute as it was, we did make her stop sticking her tongue out and showing her food in the restaurant.
After brunch, we walked around the Plaza just a little bit. Mikaela’s favorite part is probably Penguin Court. Miriam caught a picture of Mikaela playing in Penguin Court that gave me a sense of deja vu – so much so that I had to find the older picture (from May of 2005) to compare them.
