As in her Mojo harmonica. Mikaela had been asking for a harmonica for the last week or so. We were at Barnes & Nobles on Sunday afternoon, and I stumbled upon a “How to Play Harmonica” book complete with free Mojo harmonica. I couldn’t pass it up, and Mikaela spent much of the afternoon playing it. She calls it her “monica,” and it was the first thing she asked for when she woke up this morning. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and said, “Can I play my monica?” She was not happy when we told her that she needed to get dressed, brush her teeth, and eat breakfast first. For the time being, at least, this appears to be her favorite toy. Last night, she played harmonica along with “Blue’s Big Musical” and she’s been making up her own songs and singing them as she walks around for the last couple of weeks. What’s an appropriate nickname for a three and a half year old, pale skinned, blonde-haired blues musician?
