Mikaela had a VERY full day of fun today. We started slow, sleeping in a bit after a late night last night, and then Mikaela and I watched Jack’s Big Music Show together. When Miriam got up, Mikaela got dressed and the girls went to Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead for the first time this season. The Farmstead has a new attraction right now - baby goats that are still eating from bottles and could be picked up in your hand. Mikaela thought they were cute - at first. Then she noticed one nibbling on Miriam’s hair (which probably looked like straw to the goat). “Hey! Stop tryin’ to eat my mommy!” Mikaela shouted.
After the Farmstead, Miriam and Mikaela made a stop by the library. Miriam had some books to return and Mikaela browsed the children’s books. Then they swung by the house and picked up me for a Costco run. We had a late lunch of Costco pizza and polish sausage. And we ended up getting more than we had planned, but they had lilacs that Miriam was going to be looking to plant soon anyway and a Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee blend that I like a lot and is often unavailable - so we stocked up. Finally, we stopped by Target to get the last of the grocery shopping done and to replace Mikaela’s canvas Dora the Explorer shoes that shrank when we had to wash them a couple of weeks ago.
Here’s Mikaela when we got her in the house after all that:
