Busy Saturday Afternoon

We spent a lazy Saturday morning hanging out and watching Dora, but the activity level picked up in the afternoon.  First, we had a belated Valentine’s Day Cookie Decorating Party with folks from my office.  Mikaela got to play with her hosts, Robert and Clara Luby, and Nick Flores.  They played with toys, in the cardboard box fort, decorated cookies and exchanged Valentine’s Day cards.  After a couple of hours of sugar and fun, we headed to dinner at a favorite restaurant from our old neighborhood.  Jalapeno’s isn’t really on my diet, but I’ve been good all week.

After dinner we headed back into the vicious cold for the Senior Class Dance Recital in White Recital Hall at UMKC.  Mikaela’s buddies in the dance program recognized her from last time (her pink tutu is a dead giveaway).  We got to enjoy some excellent performances.  And when the UMKC dancers were done, Mikaela took to the stage and added her own exclamation point to the evening.
