We had a big weekend this past weekend, warming up for Aunt Judy and Uncle Lloyd’s 50th Anniversary Party this weekend. Friday night, cousins Carol and Craig let us use their Royals tickets. It was Mikaela’s second trip to Royals stadium, but her first time this year. Last year, Sluggerrr scared her and she loved the fireworks after the game. This year, it was the opposite. Though still a bit wary of Sluggerr, this time she warmed up to him. She even gave him a hug and a kiss. She calls him "that big lion puppet." :-) But when the fireworks started, she got increasingly upset. I was able to snap a few pictures (they’re in the 2005-June album on the right), but we left before the grand finale.
Then, Saturday night was our block party. The whole neighborhood gathered in our cul-de-sac. Mikaela love the Bounce House (and we loved the fact that it was free this time, so she could go over and over again). She also enjoyed the sno-cone machine (her favorite flavor was red). We got a chance to meet some more of our neighbors and had a good time.
After two late nights in a row, Mikaela slept in later than we can ever remember - she didn’t wake up until 9:30 a.m. We had Father’s Day lunch at Grandma Marcia and Zaydie Larry’s. Bubbie joined us for lunch, but Matt, Sarah, and Samantha weren’t back from visiting Sarah’s Mom in Reno yet. All in all, it was a VERY busy weekend.
